Director of Services (Plumbing & Electrical Installations - East Mid's)

GBR Recruitment Ltd are working in partnership with well established progressive Plumbing & Electrical Services business, recruiting for an experienced Director to lead the business strategy, working processes & operational day to day installation services across domestic, industrial, commercial & new build industry sectors carrying out major projects & smaller works. 

 

You will be a senior building services professional, boasting high level experience within electrical, plumbing, gas & new build works, who can strategically & operationally drive the business forward via implementing changes, restructuring the current set up, developing the current workforce (L&D, efficiencies etc.), utilising your strong commercial acumen & adopting a calm but firm approach to management / leadership.

 

Department/Section: Plumbing & Electrical Installations 

 

Main purposes of the role:

 

Responsible for managing and leading the plumbing and electrical installations & services business, driving efficiencies, streamlining processes & developing the services team 

 

Ensuring the business is run in line with the legal compliance obligations for both Gas & Electrical Installations, with work carried out to the highest possible standard 

 

Competencies & Experience Required:

  • Experience of managing small but complex businesses

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to collaboratively work with all functions, Installations, Sales, HR, Health and Safety, Commercial and Finance

  • Experience of managing a combined services business undertaking electrical, plumbing, heating & gas services or similar (can be bias in Electrical or bias in Plumbing, but with a knowledge of both) with the understanding of legislative / compliance requirements

  • Ability to manage, lead and direct short-term through to long-term tasks and strategies

  • Strong communication skills at all levels 

  • Previous Senior Manager, Head of Department or Directorship experience preferable

  • Ability to manage and lead teams through change, re-aligning & improving working processes 

  • Strong financial acumen

  • Experience of house building industry is a distinct advantage
